Sizes do not seem accurate

It's a lovely suit and to be cautious I got a size up from what I usually get but it's way too tight, the trousers are a 44uk waist yet when measured they are a 40" fit, the jacket fits perfectly however the waistcoat is way too small, there is no way that waistcoat was made for a 50 chest, I can barely even get it around my shoulders!
It's such a shame becuase it's a beautiful suit but I cannot wear it so will be requesting a refund
